Vishnupuram Ilakkiya Vattam invites you to the annual Tamil.wiki Thooran Award Vizha for 2024, to be held in Erode. The award has been instituted in the name of Periyasamy Thooran, the pioneer who created the first encyclopedia in Tamil.
The Tamil.wiki Thooran award is given to scholars who have contributed to the field of research in Tamil culture. The 2024 award is being given to manuscriptologist M.K. Kovaimani.
Event date and time: August 14 evening - August 15 evening, 2024
Event location: Raj Mahal, Goundachipalayam, Chennimalai Road, Erode

A special Nadaswaram concert is being held as part of the vizha, featuring Tamil songs composed by Periyasamy Thooran. This year our Nadaswaram performance feature the artists Chinnamanur A. Vijay Karthikeyan, Idumbavanam Prakash Ilayaraja accompanied by Thavil artists.
The list of songs to be performed is also being shared here, to enable audience to familiarize themselves with the songs.
As usual, readers attending the event will be able to stay at the Raj Mahal venue on the night of August 14. Writer Jeyamohan and friends of the Vishnupuram Ilakkiya Vattam will also be staying there.

There is a bus being arranged from the office of Vishnupuram Publications (near Erode Bus Stand) to the event venue at Goundachipalayam on the day of the event. Please contact us at 95003 84307 for help with transport. Attendees can also book their own cab and auto rickshaw rides.
