Chithiraiveedhikaran (Birth name: Sundar) (Born: November 4, 1984) is a historian, cultural blogger, and writer. He has been documenting the cultural and folk traditions of Tamil Nadu, particularly those in and around Madurai.
Birth, Education
Chithiraiveedhikaran was born on November 4, 1984, in Madurai to Sokkalingam and Renuka. He studied in the Tamil medium up to the eighth standard at Madurai West Panchayat Union Middle School, up to the tenth standard at St. Britto School, Madurai, and up to the twelfth standard at Thiru. Vi. Ka. Municipal School. He obtained a Diploma in Instrumentation and Control Engineering. After the launch of the Madurai Book Fair, his growing interest in Tamil led him to pursue higher studies, and he earned a Bachelor's degree in Tamil through the distance education program of Madurai Kamaraj University.
Personal Life
Chithiraiveedhikaran married Rani Meenakshi on September 8, 2013. They have a daughter named Madhura.
Cultural Contributions
Since 2010, Sundar has been writing blogs under the name Chithiraiveedhikaran. Through his writings, he has been documenting information and events related to Madurai, Tamil literature, and folklore studies.
He is a volunteer with the 'Pasumai Nadai' group, which works to identify and promote the historical heritage sites in and around Madurai. He has also transcribed the previously unpublished lectures of cultural scholar Tho. Paramasivan and compiled them into a book titled 'Namathu Arivu Selvam'.
