While most of Sriram's stories depict the lives of ordinary villagers, the questions these stories raise about life are profound. Writer N. Murugesa Pandian notes that while writing the fiction, Sriram focused on the reality of Dharapuram land where he was born and raised, the life, the mythology, the cultural happenings and the verbal history of the ethnicity which he belonged.
