N. Sriram was born into a farmer’s family of M. Nattarayasamy and Janaki at Nallimadam village near Dharapuram in Tiruppur district. Sriram finished his bachelors degree in co-operatives.
Sriram married Radha in 2005. They have a son Abhishek and the family lives in Anna Nagar, Chennai.

N. Sriram’s first short story ''Nettukattu Veedu'' was published in [[Kanaiyazhi]] in 1999. ‘Though I have been living in the city for past 20 years for the purpose of work, I am still writing about my acquittance with nature, the myths that fascinated me as a child, and the lives of everyone who lived in the village when I was a child,' says N. Sriram on his literary journey.
