M. Sivasubramaniam (M.S) (1929 – December 3, 2017) was a translator and proof reader. He translated literary and sociological works from English and Malayalam. He refined the works of Tamil writers and enriched them.

Birth and Education

M. Sivasubramaniam was born at Thirupathisaram in Kanyakumari district in 1929. The renowned writer Ma. Aranganathan was his younger brother.

Private Life

After completing his schooling from S.L.B School, Nagercoil, M. Sivasubramaniam joined as an employee of the finance department in the then Travancore state in 1947. Later, he joined in the Department of Registration, Government of Tamil Nadu and retired in 1987.

Literary Life

While working in Thiruvananthapuram, M.S befriended with writers Neela Padmanabhan, A. Madhavan and Nakulan. M.S was a friend of writer Sundara Ramaswamy from 1950 till his life time and became very close to him whom he met daily. M.S was associated with him on his Kalachuvadu magazine and publications. He served till his life as a consultant to Kalachuvadu.

Death

M. Sivasubramaniam passed away on December, 3, 2017 at Nagercoil.
