M. Sivasubramaniam

M. Sivasubramaniam (M.S) (1929 – December 3, 2017) was a book translator and improviser. M.S translated the literary and sociological works from English and Malayalam to Tamil. M.S refined the works of Tamil writers and enriched them.

Birth and Education

M. Sivasubramaniam was born at Thirupathisaram in Kanyakumari district in 1929. Renowned writer Ma. Aranganathan was his younger brother.

Private Life

After completing his schooling from S.L.B School, Nagercoil, M. Sivasubramaniam joined as an employee of the finance department in erstwhile Travancore state in 1947. Later, he joined Department of Registration, Government of Tamil Nadu and retired in 1987.

Literary Life

While working in Thiruvananthapuram, M.S befriended with writers Neela Padmanabhan, A. Madhavan and Nakulan. M.S was a friend of writer Sundara Ramaswamy from 1950 till his life time. M.S became very close to Sundara Ramaswamy and met him daily. M.S was also associated in his Kalachuvadu magazine and publications. M.S served it till his life as a consultant to Kalachuvadu.
