Kadarkarai Kaviyarangam was started by Ponnadiyan on June 13, 1971. Dr. Naventhan and Professor Vanmugil helped him. Ku. Ma. Balasubramaniyan, a film lyricist, presided over the event.
The discussions takes place on the first Sunday of every month at 6 p.m. Even during natural disasters, the event went on.
