He manages an e-magazine Akazh along with Suresh Pradeep and Senduran from 2015. He is one of the founders of a literary society for Tamil in London (London Ilakiya Kulumam). Its inception was in 2019. Book review sessions and short story discussions are conducted by this society.

In one of his interviews, Annogen clearly states his literary path and its deviation from the trend of Eelam Literature.

Quotation from the Interview,

“Most of the literary works stop with sensational political ideas. All the discussions revolving around a work focus on politics to create a temporary excitement which fizzles out quickly. Many people have still not realized that literature is not meant for that. It is very rare that the discussions are based on literary aesthetics.”[1]

Literary Significance

Annogen considers Jeyamohan, A. Muttulingam, Su. Venugopal, Shobasakthi, M. Gopalakrishnan as his inspiration. Short Stories written by him mainly focus on lust, aberrations of lust, exploitation in such relationships and their psychology. He avoids writing about the war in general and deals with the post-war period in detail. Short Stories like Bali, Yanai, Peritchai which spoke about the Tamil-Sinhala duality were widely discussed.

In his critical essay, Writer Suneel Krishnan writes, “Annogen’s language has changed dramatically when compared to his previous collections. He has moved ahead and left behind the Metaphors of Romanticism. In first person narrative stories, his langue expresses emotions sharply. With his writing proficiency he will be able to convert anything to a story. ”[2]

Writer M. Gopalakrishnan writes on Annogen’s short stories as, “Annogen’s short stories on one hand depict the relationships, the mental struggles that arise out of relationships, the violence, trauma that occurs while trying to leave such relationships. On the other hand, the psychological crises arising from the loss caused by the war for freedom, abuse of military, post-war hardships co-exist.”[3]
