Literary Significance

Stella Bruce was known for his style of prose meant for popular reading. It closely resembles Sujatha's short, brisk writing style aimed at young readers. However his writings lacked the satirical and objective nature of Sujatha works. They were closer to Balakumaran's soft romances. Stella Bruce's most important novel Panankaatu Annachi does not have these styles but is realistically narrated. Stella Bruce wrote philosophical poems under the name Kalidas.
