Senthil Jeganathan (Senthilnathan Jeganathan)(born April 10, 1987) is a Tamil writer. He writes short stories and essays and works in the film industry.

Birth & Education

Senthil Jeganathan was born in Panampalli village, Mayiladuthurai district, to parents Jeganathan and Chitra, on August 20, 1987.

He completed his primary education at TELC Primary School, Uluthukuppai, and his secondary education at DBTR National Higher Secondary School, Mayiladuthurai. He completed higher secondary education at Thyagi G. Narayanasamy Municipal Higher Secondary School, Mayiladuthurai. For undergraduate studies, he studied Life Sciences at SKSS College of Arts, Thiruppanandal, and earned a Master's in Business Administration through distance education at the University of Madras.

Personal Life

He married Manimegalai on December 4, 2016, in Mayiladuthurai. They have a son named Magizh Nandan. He has been working in the film industry as an assistant director since 2014.

Literary Career

He began his literary journey by writing film articles for various cinema magazines. His first short story, "Anbin Nizhal" appeared in Ananda Vikatan on August 1, 2018. Reflecting on his creative formation, Senthil Jeganathan acknowledges the profound influence of writers such as Pudhumaipithan, Ku. Alagirisami, Ashokamitran, Thi.Janakiraman, Jeyamohan, Nanjil Nadan, and Su. Venugopal.

Literary Significance

He is known for portraying the lives of agricultural communities and the changes affecting them, while raising fundamental questions about life. He has also written stories set against cinema-related backgrounds.
