Literary Aesthetics

Gnanam Nuraikkum Pothal

Kumaraguruparan's poems are rich in poetic language and new rhetoric with natural diction. In his foreword titled 'Meeralgalin Kanavu[2]' for the book Innoruvanin Kanavu[3]', writer Jeyamohan mentions that the book documents that Tamil cinema again and again goes beyond preset norms [1].

Innoruvanin Kanavu
Marubadiyum Muthalil Irunthu Arambikka Mudiyathu

Jeyamohan mentions[2], Lakshmi Manivannan (poet) has said that Kumaraguruparan's poems do not make a case for them to consider him a a poet. However, Kumaraguruparan's poetry is like a poetry of the mind dissolved by language which is rare in modern Tamil literature and his Poem Collection Gnanam Nuraikkum Pothal' contains poems which have the quality to be part of a small list of poems by rare exceptions such as Pramil, Devadevan, Athmanam, Abhi, and Su. Vilvaratnam.
