Ku. Sivaraman

Ku. Sivaraman (April 30, 1970) is a famous Siddha doctor in Tamil Nadu. He has written books that create awareness about Alternative Medicine and Alternative Diet.

Birth, Youth

Ku. Sivaraman was born on April 30, 1970 in Sathankulam village of Thoothukudi district. His parents are Siva. Guruswamy and C. Velammal. He studied his primary school Grama Senai School in Shankarankoil and at the Servite Convent at Palayamkottai. He completed higher education at St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School and completed BSMS Siddha Medicine from Government Siddha Medical College, Palayamkottai. Under the guidance of Prof. Jagatheesan from Tanjore Tamil University, he received his Ph.D.

Personal Life

Ku. Sivaraman married K. Rajalakshmi on May 19, 1995 and has two children, C. Archana and C. Madhav Aditya. He practices and teaches Siddha medicine.

Medical Works

Ku. Sivaraman approaches Siddha Medicine with a Modern Scientific perspective. He explores Siddha medicine and explains its value without exaggeration or simplification. He believes that since most of the modern diseases are lifestyle-related, Siddha, which treats the body by increasing its energy, is of great benefit. Ku. Sivaraman continues to work as a Doctor, medical Examiner and medical instructor.

Contributions to Medical Practice
  • From 2001 to 2010, he served as the Associate Director of Health India, a voluntary organization.
  • Since 2010, he has been the Chief Physician of Arogya Siddha Hospital, Chennai.
  • He was one of the 25 members of the immunization committee appointed by the Tamil Nadu government on April 020 for the prevention of Corona disease.

Writing Career

Ku. Sivaraman started his writing career by writing short stories. His first work was the short story "Siva Manibharathi" written on December 22, 1991 and published in Ananda Vikatan. He considers Sujatha, Balakumaran and Vannadasan as his inspirations. Ku. Sivaraman gained wide attention for the serial named 'Vanga Vazhalam' written in Tamilan Express. Ananda Vikatan's 'Aaram Thinai' serial made him famous. These articles aim to make people aware of Siddha Medicine based lifestyles, basic medical principles and essential daily medicines.
