In this performance, one person plays the Udukkai. A woman or a man dressed like a woman sings the story and dances. For the accompaniment, there will be two or three more people. Stories like Annamar Samy, Kathavarayan, Madurai Veeran, Nallathangal and Kovalan are performed in Udukkaipaatu. Mostly Annamar Samy story is performed in Udukkaipaatu.
