The below was from Stella Bruce's last note. The life that I and Hema had was wonderful, spiritual and epic. My death would make my mom sad. What to do? I could not bear. Loneliness crushes me. So I am opening the doors of the death and going to Hema. When your lonely life becomes a punishment, death becomes freedom. I bid farewell.
Stella Bruce's suicide note reads, "The life Hema and I shared was a wonderous, spiritual, epic journey. My death would make my mom sad. But what else can I do? I cannot bear this loneliness that is crushing me. So I am opening the doors of the death to be with my Hema. When your lonely life becomes a punishment, death becomes freedom. I bid farewell."

Stella Bruce was noted for his style in leisure reading. It closely resembles Sujatha's short, brisk writing style aimed at young readers. But satire and externalization of Sujatha were not in his style. They were similar to Balakumaran's soft sensational love stories. He was known for that combination. But Stella Bruce's most important novel Panankaatu Annachi does not have these styles but realistically narrated. Stella Bruce wrote poems with philosophical shade as Kalidas.
