Poet Velkannan on his preface for the book "Nalai Kanamal Pogiravar" quotes "Kaviyarasu, without searching for any questions or answers, tries to play the football of poetry. It appears that Kaviyarasu decided playing as primary instead of scoring a goal. He has written some poems with poise and some of them with simplicity. Kaviyarasu is slowly diverting from classical poetry. The path he has taken instead of old ways is very poetic. In the title poem, "Nalai Kanamal Pogiravar" he says, the shop street is enough to get lost, no matter how many technologies, such as the Aadhar card and CCTV, combine to make a man's presence felt".
