Literary Works

In 1992, P.K. Rajasekharan co-edited with Azad an anthology of essays titled Novel: Bhodhavum Prathibodhavu which started debates about post modernism in Malayalam literature. His subsequent book on O.V. Vijayan called Pitrukadikaram established his critical outlook. His other books Ekantha Nagarangal and Andhanaya Daivam about Malayalam novels are considered significant works in Kerala novel studies.

P.K. Rajasekaran has been writing literary series in weeklies, introducing contemporary European and American literature to the general public. These series have been published as separate volumes.

Literary Research

P.K.Rajasekharan and P. Venugopalan found that the novel Indulekha (Author O.Chandu Menon, Tamil translation by Ka. Appadurai), considered one of the first novels in Malayalam which emphasizes women's emancipation and education, was heavily edited and truncated in many of the editions for the past several decades. They found the original version of the novel in the London Library and published the definitive variorum edition of Indulekha in 2016. It turned out that sections that emphasized women's education were deleted in most editions.
