Appadurai]]), considered one of the first Novels in Malayalam which emphasizes women's emancipation and education, was heavily edited and truncated in many of the editions for the past several decades. They found the original version of the novel from the London Library and published the definitive variorum edition of Indulekha in 2016. It turned out that sections that emphasized women's education were deleted in most editions.
