Idangazhi Nayanar was the king of the Velir clan at Kodumbalur, the capital of Konadu. Saivism flourished during his reign. A Shiva devotee used to feed the devotees of Lord Shiva every day there and perform Maheswara Puja. One day, when the Shiva devotee had no food to offer, he became depressed and dared to steal rice paddy in the middle of the night inside the palace of Idangazhi Nayanar. When the Shiva devotee opened the paddy barn and picked up the paddy, he was caught by the night guards. They took him to the king. | |||
