Attamangalam, one of the genres of Sitrilakyam (known as Prabandham in Sanskrit), is eight asiriya virutham (devotional verses) written asking God for grace and protection. Ashtamangalam (eight auspicious signs) is part of several ritualistic prayers.[1][2]
