Sureshkumar Indrajith's real contribution is in short stories. He extended the boundaries set for short stories. His storytelling did not comprise landscape or external descriptions. His stories very rarely exhibited cultural background. His philosophy was based on existentialism. He also rarely dealt with poetic imagery. Usage of emotion and dramatic ending was also rare in Sureshkumar Indrajit’s stories. These boundaries also happen to be his uniqueness. Through narrative gaps, his storytelling portrays what’s in the minds of the characters. Writer Jeyamohan said during the release of  'Idapakka Mookkuthi' that “Sureshkumara Indrajith only provides the map, the reader has to travel and understand the real meaning of the story.”
