The novel "Rasadurai" written by C. Sellammal was published in the year 1924. Sillaiyur Selvarasan mentions "For her boldness to be the first novelist, even though numbers can't be compared, through similar storytelling methods, C. Sellammal can be compared to Tamil Nadu's Kothainayagi Ammal."
