Su. Venugopal says “M.K. Kumar's stories are unique and open to the world because of the closeness of the world created by his native village, the mind that grasps the movements of the metropolis with a kind of precision. All these qualities make M.K. Kumar's stories very unique with the potential to open new perspectives. In a way, his stories are making a great contribution to the world of modern literature in Singapore."
