King Viswa's original name was Viswanathan Devaraj. He was born on April 14, 1979 in Agartala, the capital of Tripura, to M. Devaraj - Loganayaki couple. His native place is Ariyur near Solingar Hill Temple in Arakkonam district. Viswa's father served in Indian Army, so he had to relocate every three years. Thus, he was schooled in Tamil, English, Hindi and Telugu in cities like Chandigarh (Punjab), West Bengal, Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai. He studied B.Sc in Mathematics from Sri Kandaswami Naidu College for Men and M.Sc. in Management from Velammal College in Chennai.
