So. Ilaiyaperumal Pillai (19th century) was the author of Tirunelveli district, Vittalapuram's Thalapuranam. Thalapuranam is a book that portrays old virtues and historical significance of Hindu Temples.

Birth, Education

Ilaiyaperumal Pillai was born in Kurichi, Tirunelveli district. His dad name is Sokkalingam Pillai. Ilaiyaperumal Pillai was taught by Ashtavathanam Santhappa Kavirayar. He wrote the Thalapuranam of Tirunelveli district, Vittalapuram. Vittalapuram Thalapuranam consists of 394 songs under 14 titles. Vittalapuram Thalapuranam was printed and published on 1898 in the Pandian Press.
