Idaikkundrur Kilar was born in Idaikkundrur. Since the place between the hills is known as Idaikundrur, Tamil scholars believe that his place may have been either in the range of Palanimalai or Thiruparankundram.

Idaikkundrur Kilar sang about Thalaiyalankannathu Seru Vendra Neduncheliyan in his songs.

• Neem belonged to Neduncheliyan clan.
• Pandian Neduncheliyan fought against seven kings and won the battle of Thalaiyalankannam.
