Ramesh Predan
Ramesh Preshan (Ramesh) (October 27, 1964 - September 27, 2025) is an Tamil Writer. He has written Poems, Short Stories, Novels, Dramas and Critical Essays. He is also known as Post modern literary writer and critic.
Birth, Education
Ramesh Predhan was born to Marudhamuthu and Balasundharambal on October 27, 1964 in Pondicherry, a Union Territory of India. His native was Trichy. He studied from primary to secondary education in Puducherry Government Middle School and completed his higher eduction in V.O.C Govt Higher Secondary School. He finished his graduation from Galway College and secured a diploma in French Linguistics from Alliance Française. Later, he graduated his masters in M.A History from Annamalai University.

He has contributed and worked in the Literary Magazine 'Amoeba', Literature and Folklore Magazine 'Kadhai Solli', Political and Social Magazine 'Parimatram'.
Literary Life
Ramesh Predhan's Literary life had two phases.
Co Writing:
In 1993, he wrote the novel "Pudhaikkapatta Pradhigalum ezhudhapatta manidhargalum", along with Prem. He wrote short stories under the name Predho-Predhan. He continued writing under the name Ramesh Prem. This was his first work. He continued to write theory books and poems. Apart from translations, he co-authored 21 books with Prem. His works have been published in the magazines Kiranam, Niraprigai, Sidhaivu, Amoeba, Kalachuvadu, Uyirmai, Theeranadhi and Solpudhidhu. During this period, Charu Nivedita also worked with them. They were pioneers of postmodern writing in Tamil.
Independent Writing:
After separating from Prem in 2010, Ramesh continued to write under the name Ramesh Predhan. In 2013, he suffered a stroke and was confined to bed ever since. But he continued to write poems, essays and novels until his last day with the same vigour. During this phase of his writing, his works depicted historical and philosophical undertones.

Death
Ramesh Predhan passed away on September 27, 2025, in Puducherry due to health issues. Ramesh had severe blood pressure problems from birth and had been bedridden since 2013 after suffering a stroke.
