He belonged to Thondayar tradition and ruled the Thondaiya nation with Kanchipuram as the capital. He took over a town namely Bavathiri, and ruled around Vada Venkatam.  His ancestors’ arrival via sea route, their Thirayar title (''Thirai'' means sea wave) and their ruling can be found in ''Perumpanattrupadai''.  
He belonged to the Thondayar lineage and ruled the Thondai region with Kanchipuram as its capital. He took over a town named Bavatthiri, and ruled around North Venkata regions. He belonged to the Thondayar lineage and ruled the Thondai region with Kanchipuram as its capital. He took over a town named Bavatthiri, and ruled around North Venkata regions. Through Perumpanattrupadai, we come to know that his ancestor's landed here through sailors' route hence ruled with the title 'thiraiyar' (Thirai means sea wave).
